Following Jesus
Making a conscious decision to follow Jesus is the first step in a relationship with Him. We can’t earn forgiveness of our sins—it can only be given by His grace. It’s a gift. “The gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord” (Romans 6:23). Receiving that gift is simple:
Admit
Admit that you have sinned and that you need God’s forgiveness.
Believe
Believe that Jesus died for your sins and rose from the dead to reconcile you to God and give you forgiveness and eternal life.
Choose
Choose to follow Jesus by surrendering yourself to His teaching and direction.
Example prayer of commitment
Dear God, thank You for loving me. I know I'm a sinner and I ask for Your forgiveness. I believe that Jesus Christ is Your Son, and that He died for my sins and rose from the dead. I am choosing today to trust You and follow Jesus as my Lord and Savior. From this day forward, I am asking you to guide my life and help me to do Your will. I desire to follow You completely and take the steps necessary to become one of Your disciples. Please help me to grow in my walk with Jesus, and to be obedient to what He asks and commands. I pray this in the name of Jesus, Amen.

Baptism
As followers of Jesus Christ, baptism is an essential milestone in our relationship with Him.
What is baptism?
We respond to God's free gift of salvation by believing in Jesus Christ to save us. We demonstrate our belief by surrendering to Christ's leadership and authority over our lives and by being immersed in water and raised out of the water (baptized) in His name. (Acts 2:38)
When should I be baptised?
As soon as you believe in Christ and choose to follow Him it is appropriate to be baptized. (Acts 2:41; 8:35-38)

Membership
We’re so excited that you’re considering becoming a member of Eagle Christian Church. Membership at ECC is about being in agreement with and committed to our mission and values, and requires:
Members are expected to be intentionally growing in Christ by being in the Word, serving in ministry in the church, and reaching others with the gospel of Jesus.
To become a member:
- Belief in Jesus as the son of God
- Acceptance of him as Lord and Savior
- Baptism (immersion) into Christ Jesus.
